Check was great as usual, the new bungalows were great, clean tidy, with everything required for an extended stay. Great size for a family of three. Being new everything worked and the staff were very responsive to any requests. Only suggestion is carports should be erected next to the bungalows to protect the vehicles. Having EV charging point was appreciated
We had a one night stay on the way from Canberra to Cairns, travelling with our teen boys.
The Mercure was like an oasis. From the get-go the staff were all amazing. We ate at the restaurant - very nice lunch menu.
The grounds are immaculate, just what you are hoping for in the Tropical North.
Highly recommend.

My friends and I had THE best Christmas Day and overnight stay at the Mercure yesterday. The food was amazing and abundant. The atmosphere was incredible, Santa as AWESOME and very friendly; stopped for a long chat. Even though there were already plenty of Vegan options in the selection, they went to a special effort of making my friend an extra special Vegetable Frittata and Vegan plum pudding, that was such a special touch. Special shout out to Siobhan the fantastic waitress, and another who had an unusual name starting with "A", that I cannot recall. THEY BOTH WERE TRULY AMAZING, EFFICIENT AND VERY AMICABLE. We all agree that we will be back next year for some of the same.
Great stay. Staff very very helpful and friendly. Room service was good with some options available. ||Location is nice and close to Castletown and the airport. Rooms were a good size. Clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed. ||Great afternoon spent having a drink over looking the pool. ||Would stay again for sure.
We had our Christmas lunch at The Mercure this year. We enjoyed the most beautiful experience. The lunch was superb, with so many choices. Seafood was magnificent and presentation second to none. Santa was lovely and so friendly with everyone. Siobhan and her staff were so attentive and professional. We will definitely return to celebrate Christmas again.
